crossfit open
is here

Why is the crossfit open special?

The largest participatory sporting event in the world, the Open is an opportunity to unite globally as a community to not only test our skills against our peers, but also to support, encourage, inspire, and celebrate each other as we push past our perceived limitations and overcome challenges.

how does crossfit grow do the Open?

At CrossFit Grow we experience the Open with Friday Night Light workouts, intramural team competitions, themed workouts, fun challenges and tons of comradery as we encourage each other to be the best we can be.

crossfit grow members share their
favorite open experiences:

Celebrating other people’s wins.
Falling off the rower after 19.1 and seeing my friend Ann laying right next to me. We all do better when we all do better, and she was the push that I needed to get through the workout.
My first open, I was so nervous that I puked. The workout was great though! I can’t help but laugh about it now.
Repeating a workout from years past and crushing it that time around. It’s fun to see the progress I’ve made both in strength and how I think about doing the workouts.
Seeing everyone cheer each other on.
The community. That’s it. In all of my memories, they wouldn’t be anything without the community that helped make those experiences so memorable no matter how exhausting the workout was.
Watching others overcome fears.
It was a neon theme and I remember the picture of my buddy Matt hunched on a bent knee and myself partially sitting up with glossy eyes and mouth open gasping for air as we just finished 15.5. It makes me laugh at how gassed we were then. We’d still probably be gassed now, but our time would be faster :)

Why should you do the Crossfit Open?

Energy.

The level of energy and intensity increases during these three weeks and it helps you push just a little bit harder.

opportunity.

This is an opportunity to try something new.

confidence.

If it's uncomfortable or makes you nervous, you should probably do it. You'll be surprised at what you CAN do.

Growth.

How will you grow, improve, and get better if you don't step a little outside your comfort zone? This is one of the best places to do that.

Progress.

This sets you up for the long haul which is what we should be in for in the first place when we begin making lifestyle changes. You may do The Open this year and a workout has a movement that you're not great at or strong enough for. That's okay. You now have a benchmark to start from and build on. You have a whole year to make progress and consistently dedicate yourself to improving in those areas.
