Is giving just one child, teen or adult struggling with a metal illness or depression a voice and a hope worth it? What if it saved their life?
Many of us struggle with some form of mental health illness. Most of us are taught to never talk about this. Therefore, we let this illness tear us apart from the inside out. We at CrossFit Grow started the “Million Meter Row” to raise awareness around mental health and depression as we give those struggling a voice and hope. On average, there are 123 suicides per day. It is the 10th leading cause of death in the US. Almost 1 in every 10 high schooler as made an attempt on their own life. This is unacceptable. Let’s work together to make sure everyone knows that they have a choice. They have a voice. There is hope. Everyone can help. Be a listening ear. Be a loving friend. Be a supportive parent that makes sure their child knows that they will never give up on them. We can do this. So, let’s all choose to work together. If we do nothing, nothing will change, but if we give one person a voice and hope, we have won.
In one day, we come together as a community to row 1,000,000 meters on a Concept II rowing machine. We also raise money to help organizations fighting for those struggling with mental health. In the last 3 years, we have raised over $23,000 and we will continue to do all we can to help those struggling. Please consider joining us!!
The next event is scheduled for June 13th, 2021
